Make sure leaders understand expectations for tomorrow's mock session and in-class announcement and anything else you need to know

 
  Assignments for Tomorrow:  Each leader will present a 10-15 minute mock SI session.  Mock sessions should be based on a lecture topic that one might experience in your subject area.  It can be the beginning, middle, or end of what you would do for your SI session.  
     
Thurs., Aug. 17 SI Training - Day 2  
9:00 - 12:00 pm Group Activity - Mock SI Sessions  
  Group A in HEB 2010, Group B in HEB 2002  
    Demos:  Each leader will present a 10 - 15 minute mock SI session based on one of yesterday's lectures (math or psych).  It can be the beginning, middle, or end of what you would do for your session. 
Feedback:  after each mock session, supervisor will facilitate group feedback, emphasizing the positive, with suggestios for improvement.  Leaders should look for ideas from one another to incorporate in future sessions.

Each leader will present a personalized version of the SI announcement in HEB 2008

Please make sure that your announcement is concise but includes all of the improtant topics found in your SI Handbook (p.18).  We will also be looking for volume, clarity and confidence.

NOTE - When should your SI sessions start?  The goal is to start holding sessions by the second week of classes.  Get your times to Brenda by Friday, September 2 so your rooms can be scheduled.
